Princess room - how to do it at the weekend and not spend a fortune?

Which mom has not dreamed of becoming a real princess in the past? Every girl sooner or later experiences a fascination with fairy-tale characters, dreams of a castle, ball gowns and a knight on a white horse. It is precisely such moments that create the magic of childhood, to which we return many years later in our memories. Today we will show you how to create a room worthy of a real princess from an ordinary room with a few simple changes and at a low cost!

Colour

Probably you will not do without painting the walls, but the solutions available on the market mean that refreshing them and drying the paint take literally a few hours. You need to spend much more on choosing the right colour for the walls, after all, it has been known for a long time that little princesses are extremely picky. However, they are also gracious and negotiable, and they often make it clear: I agree to any colour, as long as it's pink!

When designing a princess-style room, it is worth considering the ideas and needs of the child, even if flashy pink is not our favourite colour. It is a good idea to compromise and paint, for example, two walls in the colour of your choice and two that will remain neutral. It is also worth including the little lady in an intense search for the perfect shade, e.g., by taking her to a building supplies store or showing the pattern book. It is also quite likely that seeing the number of colours available on the palette will surprise you pleasantly and decide on a completely different colour. If the negotiations are unsuccessful and the little princess insists on painting the entire room pink, it is worth offering her different variants of the same colour, thus showing that the same colour can have many views. After all, powdery, dull, and dirty are also pink, right?

If your child is willing to think about two walls other than pink, it's good to know the colours that will blend in perfectly with the chosen shade. Light versions of grey, mint, which has recently become more and more popular, as well as beige and light blue will be perfect for this role. Thanks to this combination, it will be sweet, pastel, and charming, which is exactly the way princesses like the most.

The royal bed

No princess can do without a royal bed. Contrary to appearances, the fairy tale effect can be achieved at a low cost and with a minimum amount of work.

Fairy-tale style beds have their undoubted charm but leave a small room for modification when the little princess is no longer fascinated by the characters from the books. In addition, they are impractical and often take up a lot of space. The easiest, fastest, and easiest way to create a bed worthy of a princess is to choose a simple and timeless piece of furniture and decorate it with appropriate accessories. A low cot, the factory-applied colour of which can be selected depending on your preferences, is a perfect base. A white bed or a natural colour bed will look best on a background of pink walls, but there is nothing to prevent you from choosing pink, if you choose a totally pink room. The accessories will be responsible for creating a truly royal sleeping place from the bed, and this is what we will focus on now.

Canopy - a classic without which no princely bed can do. It can be heavy and massive, reminiscent of those velour from royal chambers, or airy, tulle or muslin, which will also act as a mosquito net in summer. In addition, such a canopy can be decorated with a garland of stars on the outside and LED lights inside, making it even cosier.

Headrest - in the shape of a crown or diadem. It is an excellent and low-cost idea to diversify the cot and arrange it to meet the requirements of a little princess. You can sew it yourself and mount it to the wall or stick it in the form of a sticker, or a hand-painted work of art will also work well.

Accessories worthy of a princess

Every true princess has a dressing table or at least a small mirror in her chamber, in which she could look at herself and admire her extraordinary beauty. Accessories such as crown or coach-shaped frames as well as fluffy bedspreads and cushions that cover the bed are equally important. It is worth remembering about lighting, which largely contributes to the creation of a fairy-tale and mysterious atmosphere in the room. To achieve it, you do not need to replace the chandeliers or break the walls. All you need is lamps and cotton balls twisted around the railing of the bed or placed on the table next to it. They not only provide warm, subdued light that is conducive to fun, but also act as night lamps.
